Question: Code c1275-intermittent traction control light

A neighbor kids cars traction control light comes on and off. I scanned for codes and pulled c1275-PCM serial data malfunction. He told me he just had some brake work done, thinking it's related, and not familar with model car could you point me in the right direction. Thanks Scott
