Question: Fuel Issues

The suburban will shut down completely going down the freeway, or the city roads. It sometimes does it when your at a stop sign and start to go its sluggish and jumpy and then just dies. We have changed the fuel filter. We hooked it up to diagnostics and the fuel compisition sensor popped up twice, so we had that changed. This still hasn't fixed the problem. Tomorrow we will change the fuel pump and see if that will fix it. Don't really know what else to do with it.

Also most of the time it will start back up and go again, sometimes without dying again and sometimes it will do it like 7 times on a 5 mile trip or so. Sometimes it will take a minute to start again.

Hopefully you have had this fixed by now? If not, does it run okay at start up and then after it warms up dies? If the fuel pump is bad it will not run at all. I had a similar issue because the temp sensor on the side of the engie had a broken wire harness. The engie runs in a loop during warm up and then the computer takes over the fuel mixture. Inaccurate readings can cause the engie to run too rich and shut down.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
