Question: fuel light stays lit, tapping horn temporarly turns it off

why would tapping horn just so make the fule lite go out, only to come back on when i am not paying attention to it, retap horn, goes off again, almost everytime! full tank of gas does not make any differance.i have witnessed it flicker off on its own once or twice tho.
