Question: how do i fix a broken lock
when i close my door and try to lock it the lock won't go down won't lock

I'm no expert but i just fixed my 1988 nissan pulsar nx se. the pasanger door would not open from the inside. i took off my inside panel and tried the inside handle to see what the door needed to do to open. then tried the outside handle to see what it wasn't doing. turns out all i needed to do was turn a small piece of plastic that was designed to wear out. If you've got the time just take the panel off and take a look. the mechanical components are quite simple. hope this helped.
