Question: How much to replace Body Control Module

I've been told by my current mechanic that I need to replace my Body Control Module on my 2001 Chevy Impala. The issue that warrents this repair is the car will sometime not start & the Security light will flash. If I wait 10 minutes, the car will then start. I like to shop arond to make sure I'm getting a good deal.

Mary, I could only get the dealership to fix this problem. it was around $1600. the issue was the coding. only the dealership can code the bcm. I thought it was a bunch of bs...but couldnt find another place to code it. so $1600 or every once in awhile I have to wait 10 minutes... I chose to wait 10 minutes!
