This year, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is celebrating its 50th year devoted to automotive safety. To celebrate this milestone we thought it would be appropriate to show off 10 of the most bizarre car accidents we could find. You say sensational, we say topical! But don’t worry, no one was harmed in the making of these accidents.

Apparently the driver of this Subaru backed out of his driveway only to hit the gas instead of the brake. The placement of the brick is to ensure a good photo-op.

The massive metal structure in the rearview mirror might have been a clue that the truck bed was still raised. Just a thought.

The driver of this Fiat lost control, hit a bump and crashed into the side of a house. Must have been quite a bump.

Both drivers were unsure of how exactly this happened. It's reported that Austin Powers may have been involved though.
