2009 Acura TL: The Most Powerful TL Ever

July 15th, 2008 · No Comments

Acura recently released information on the newest generation TL, and we’ve got to say we like what we see. While the exterior styling may be polarizing (love it? hate it?), the mechanical workings are a wonder. The car is available with Honda’s SH-AWD system, flawlessly delving up power to all four wheels. Available with either the standard 3.5-liter V-6 with 280 horsepower, or the most robust engine in any Acura ever—a 3.7-liter, 310 horsepower V-6. No word on how the all-wheel drive or the more powerful engine will impact fuel economy, but our guess is it won’t be helpful. Even so, we’re excited by the idea of a powerful all-wheel drive sedan to give the likes of the Infiniti G35x and the BMW 335xi sedans some competition. The new Japanese contender should be available at the start of 2009, so stay tuned for pricing information.
