The 2010 Mazda3 hatchback is slated for an official unveil at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy, but a few pictures of the car have slipped out early. The sharp-looking 5-door still relies on many of the design elements established in the last iteration of the car, though subtle updates make for an entirely different look. Like the Mazda3 sedan, the hatchback will likely be powered by a variety of engines, including a 148 horsepower, 135 lb-ft of torque 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a 2.5-liter with 167 horsepower and 168 lb-ft of torque. A diesel variant will be offered in Europe, but won’t see sales in the United States. While that’s bad news for diesel fans out there, we can expect a much quicker, turbocharged Mazdaspeed version sometime soon. [Source: Mazda]
