The IIHS has released its top 10 list of the most stolen cars in America during the past year and it’s not looking good for GM, Ford and Chrysler – yet again. Seems as though thieves only have eyes for Detroit’s very own, and big, gas-guzzlers at that.
We could speculate all day as to why these particular cars are more likely to end up in an alley, stripped and on blocks, but that’s really for our readers to do. Though to start thing off, do you think the gas crisis had anything to do with more insurance claims on these fuel-chugging SUVs and trucks?
The list:
1. Cadillac Escalade ESV 4WD (15 claims/1,000 sold)
2. Ford F-250 SuperCrew (13.1 claims/1,000 sold)
3. Cadillac Escalade 4WD (11.3 claims/1,000 sold)
4. Dodge Charger (11 claims/1,000 sold)
