Honda has decided to ditch its plans for a replacement for its S2000 roadster, among other development. The company will also halt work on rear-wheel drive and V8 platforms, meaning Acura’s 7-Series fighter is effectively dead in the water. The move comes as sales continue to slip for every manufacturer, and while we understand the need to save cash where cash can be saved, it saddens us to hear of the S2000’s passing. The car offered up bare-bones performance for relatively low cash thanks to a rev-happy four-cylinder and a six-speed manual transmission. With no replacement on the horizon, 2009 will likely be the last year for the car. [Source: Autoblog]

I suppose we’ll see plenty of model changes in the coming years…it’s time for change!
