We’ve finally gotten a glimpse of the all new 2011 Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 v10 and we think it looks pretty sick.  Today’s hardtop convertibles may look cool folding into the trunk a la Transformers (stoked about the new movie!), but they add a lot of weight and can change the overall structure and appearance of the car. Which is why Audi’s R8 Spyder will use a fabric one. Audi believes that with advancements in fabric tops, road noise, interior comfort and speed will not be compromised.

The new 5.2 v10 will put down 525 horsepower and should achieve a 0-60 sprint in 4 seconds or less. Audi claims that their sports car will be capable of nearly 195 mph too. We’re thinking that’s going to be attained with the top up. [Source: Car and Driver]
