Push Rods

Only used in non-overhead cam engines, pushrods are metal rods that go between the camshaft and the rocker arms. The push rods cause the valves to open and close via the rocker arms. These generally limit high-rpm performance, but have been used successfully in the Chevrolet Corvette and other otherwise high-technology vehicles for years.
