It is not just a car, it is a solid transportation machine

Unbeleivable Machine!
I purchased my 1986 300e in 1988 with 6 thousand miles logged on it from the previous owner. The car has been a "tank." The tachometer stopped at 415,000 miles about 7 years later. Estimating my miles since then, I can safely put the vehicle at about 900,000 miles or more. I have only changed the lifters twice and went through two transmissions [the first one I overhauled was not done properly, otherwise I would still be on first overhaul]. It starts great and never leaves me stranded. Although the years have had an effect on overall ride comfort, it still retains its solid feel on the road. It is very reliable and I love driving it as a representation of fine German craftsmanship. The leather is still nice and thick and stitching has held up throuth the years. I love my car.
