I had a 1996 Jetta that I traded in for the 2003 Jetta. This newer model is quick and speedy with outstanding gas mileage. While driving, there are times that I look down and realize that I'm about to break the sound barrier and have to slow down. I get about 30-35 mpg driving within the city.

I bought it used so not sure how it should drive brand new. Would never know its a turbo, its so slow. My other jetta, a VR6 is much much much faster. However, I get 47 mpg so I will take that trade anyday.
