I purchased my 2.5L Jetta with package 2 brand new in 2006. It's been a great car, and it now has 43,000 miles. I treaded in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee for this 2006 Jetta Diesel with Option 1, it continues to get better fuel economy the longer I drive it, presently I average 47 miles a gallon around town and average 54 miles a gallon on the highway at normal speeds.
