Mechanic Q: Our Battery keeps becoming discharged even a new one. How much do we have to drive or run engine in?

We do not drive or go very far and then only one or two days a week. Maybe go 8 to ten mlles.

we have had the alternator checked and it checks OK. what co0uld be causing the discharge overnight?

One battery failed afterr one year when it was a five year battery. Replaced Battery one month ago with a new one, tests OK. after jump start, overrhead dome lights seem to flicker. Car runs OK but won't trust it, might not start again out on the road.
