Mechanic Q: what kind of oil??

my dealer wants to use full synthetic oil for my upcoming oil change. Would it be a safe alternative to use the more economical synthetic blend? I have the "original" iTouring 2.0 model (ie not SKY-ACTIV). Thanks.
