Mechanic Q: Multiple repairs - questions?

How do I know if I need the following done: 1) Replacement of Serpentine Belt? 2) Transmission Fluid service? 3) Power Steering service? 4) Air Filter Replacement? When we got an oil change, the mechanic recommended these services and the total cost is approx $280. Thanks
