Tried to turn the sprockets and succeeded with the two valve sprockets on top. The cam shaft would only move about 40 degrees. it hit a blockage in both directions There was no way to line up the timing mark on it. I guess this means something broke! lol
This is FAR beyond my abilities.
I appreciate all your advice
Have to see what I can sell it for if someone wants to rebuild it or just tear it apart.
Thank you again!
Of course it means removing the timing belt! LOL
I think I read that it should only be turned clockwise.
Which I guess is the normal direction. I was afraid to try it and break something
I appreciate your help
The old timing belt had lost a section of teeth.
When I took the old one off none of the 3 gears would move at all.
The top two seemed to still be in line but the bottom one was off
When it started to have trouble, I had just started it and heard a weird flapping sound, I opened the hood and couldn't tell where it was coming from. Then the engine quit and when I tried to start it the starter engaged but the engine wouldn't turn at all. Battery is fully charged.
After installing the new belt the engine still would not turn at all.
