Mechanic Q: Right tail light of my 02 Escalade not functioning correctly?

The light bulb is not burned out. The light comes on when I turn on my lights, but extinguishes when I press the brake pedal. It also functions when I use my right turn signal, but again extinguishes when I press the brake pedal.
