I live in the caribbean it is hot in here, and the car over heats going up hills, I have followed D.S. tips and check for lack of coolant or leaks, the fans work well. Took it to the mechanic and he told me the problem was the thermostat, he took it off and told me that it was not necessary to replace it, that it was for cooler countries. Should I use it like this or is it necessary to replace it?
