Mechanic Q: Check engine light & cruise light?

Recently my check engine light came on and at the same time the cruise light flashes and no longer will hold a cruise speed. Is it normal that those would happen together? Can Auto-Zone or others check the code output for me?

It turned out to be the oxygen sensors on both ends of the catalytic converter. We got the parts cheaper on-line. The cruise light was tied to that problem. Even so the cost for parts alone (with free shipping) was $240.

On the Subaru Outback Boxer engine, how do you change the plugs with very little room due to the frame being there?
