Question: 1955 vw bus will not idle all the time.

My bus will at times idle just fine and other times will not idle at all. If it has stalled, say at a stop, it may not restart.

Does the operating or ambient temp affect it? If it is totally random, you're going to have to troubleshoot the problem when it's not working well. First, try to MAKE it not run right by wiggling things while it's idling--vacuum lines are a good one. Spark plug wires (careful) are another.

If you can get it to stall and not restart, that's great. Follow the troubleshooting advice here:
