Question: 1990 Toyota whining power steering pump?

Then put in a new one. Did the same thing just winned with no power so took back got another one put in did same thing so I pulled of return to tank and its pumping out fluid and belt is tight ........ I feel retarded ... Please help

If you replaced the pump and it is still making noise, your steering box may be the problem. There may be a restriction not allowing enough fluid to flow which can cause cavitation at the pump (make it whine)
