Question: 1992 caprice, spits and sputters once warm. Smells rich.

I have a 92 caprice with the 305ci TBI, It runs fine until warmed up. What it does is spit and sputter unless you give it a lot of throttle. When under engine strain like a/c and brakes it will shut off (when warm). It also has a bit of black soot from the..."

Sounds like it's in need of a tuneup and some adjustments. Maybe some vacuum/air leaks contributing to the problem.

It was the engine temp sensor right beside the thermostat housing. It's plug was loose😓😓😓 never knew it would cause such a big fuss!!!
