Question: 1998 honda passport 4wheel drive

what makes the guages on the speedometer and the rpms needled stop working and the radio turn on and off while driving it.

Are you having a problem with all of the dash gauges, or just some? If it is all of them, then the dash or wiring connector is likely the problem, but if it's just one or two of them, it may be the sending units, the dash gauges or the wiring in between. Does the radio problem happen at exactly the same time as the dash gauge problem? If so, then there is likely some related wiring issue.
