Question: 2003 Buick Century Heater problems

Ok my heat has been acting up on me. It takes forever for it to heat up, and I do mean forever. For a while it wouldn't even heat up, and then I got a new thermostat and that seemed to fix that problem. Keep in mind, the heat still takes forever to heat up but at least I have it fast forward a few weeks later, It takes forever for it to warm up and when it finally warms up It fluctuates. It'll be hot for a while then it'll cool down. I've also noticed when I'm warming the vehicle up the temp gauge goes over slightly past half and that's when the heat will warm up MOST of the time. When I got my heater core flushed last week it stopped doing it, and what do you know a week later, I'm right back to square one. It'll warm up EVENTUALLY, especially when I drive it and get on the highway but it takes forever to warm up, the temp hand goes over slightly past half then retreats. Like I said everything was working fine after I had my core flushed with a garden hose, and it just started back doing this yesterday evening. Can somebody help me with this because it is really frustrating. Thanks.

Sounds like you have build up in the cooling system. You should back flush the whole system. The nice clean core probably is plugged up again.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
