Question: 2006 Audi A6 3.2 Cam Adjuster Sensor issue

I had an issue with my 2006 Audi A6 3.2 (64k miles). I wasn't able to shift the gear from parking one day. EPC light was on. Dealer told me that the TCM module needed to be replaced. This was covered under the warranty and they replaced the module. Once I got the car back, the Check Engine Light turned on the same day. I was told that 2 Cam Adjuster Sensors are defective and need to be replaced which would cost me around $800. I believe they messed something up while installing TCM which they are denying. I need an expert opinion. Please help.

I understand your suspicions, but replacing the TCM shouldn't affect the Cam Adjuster sensors. The system on that engine is a little unusual though, so you may want to call a local Audi/European shop to see if they have any other input. My understanding is that on those engines, messing with the cam adjusters (or ignoring them) can have expensive consequences.

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
