Question: 4 wheel drive

This question involved the 4 wheel drive system of the 2000 Chevy Trailblazer LT that I have. I have taken the vehicle to the Chevy dealer several times to have them check the 4 wheel system with no avail. Even after the “service 4 Wheel drive system light “comes on the dealers can’t find any computer code registered. I’ll try to explain the best I can on what is happening.
At anytime, when the vehicle has been sitting and is cool/cold you can switch the 4 wheel drive into all position from all wheel drive all the way through to 4 low the system will engage and lock, with the indicator light on the switch staying sold. The 4 wheel will operate properly.
However, after driving the vehicle normally, in 2 wheel drive, to where it heats up to normal operating temperature then stopping to put the vehicle into any position of all wheel or 4 wheel drive the system will not engage or lock. The indicator light on the switch remains flashing.
Once the vehicle sits and cools down for thirty to one hour, the system starts to operate properly again. Any ideas?

Also, from your description of the problem, it sounds like it should be easily reproducible. If your dealer has not/will not take the time to reproduce the problem, you should take it somewhere else. There are many excellent independent repair shops that charge less than the dealers and give better service. You can find one on review sites such as cartalk.com or yelp.com.
