Question: 4x4 grinding

hi i have a 95 explorer and i got a front driveline lastnight and put it on i have it on a lift and put it in 4x4 and it was fine turning both ways with all four tires sping no sounds at all. i went mudding with some friends and everything was working great until i got home we have like a good foot in a half deep mudd roots in our driveway we have to get through to park and i put it into 4x4 and started going and it was good until i turned then it would start to grind when i would turn and put stress on the wheels and try to go.
