Question: 4x4 problem

on my 2004 GMC sierra 1500 my four wheel drive dont work. the lights work on the switch and no other lights are on. the selector acts like it switches but front dont spin also happens in four low it does switch gear ratios but fron dont spin. but if i put in auto 4x4 the front will spin when the rear does any ideas
