Question: 5.0L fuel injected fresh rebuild running rich only on one side of th engine. what could cause this

Only 50 miles on the engine. started running rough and smoking on one side (true duels) I took the upper intake off and the number 1 2 3 4 side are all wet and fuel in the oil. this engine calls for a intake air temp. sensor but the intake does not have the spot for it. (No MAF) will this cause the rich on one side? I have thrown money at it and change several sensors but still the same thing. rough idle

I'd need to see the vehicle to tell you what is going on.

But an air temp sensor is a major input for air/fuel ratio calculations. so if it requires one, and it isn't there it may be defaulting to a rich mixture. Also if the wire is there, but disconnected, the computer will see that as cold air and will richen the mixture up to compensate.

It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
