Question: 95 Escort stalls at stoplight

I Just bought a 95 escort with 160 thousand miles. after buying i was at a stoplight and the engine started to idle rough and stalled. There is also a hissing sound from the engine that sounds like it might be vacuum leak. any help would be great.

It sounds like you have a problem with the idle circuit. A vacuum leak could definitely cause that, here's a video on how to locate a vacuum leak:
