Question: 97 Eclipse GSX Sputters at about 4.5k and does not like to start
Turbocharged, aftermarket exhaust and intake. When you get the car to about 4 to 4.5k on the tach, the car starts to sputter like its losing fuel. I had the MAF and fuel pump replaced. The fuel pump was replaced with a high pressure pump from Walbro. This did not fix the issue. It seems to be running either very rich when I am on the gas, or very lean when idling. It also will try to die on fast stops, when the RPM's are high and I clutch to break. Already taken it to one mechanic and they were unsure of the issue and ended up giving me my money back. Note: When the MAF was replaced, this seemed to fix the problem briefly, same thing with the fuel filter, which I had replaced as well.
