Question: 98 Jimmy with strainge shifting problem

Vehicle runs good until the truck gets to a speed where it tries to shift gears. Engine looses power (skipping?) until the shift completes, and then the power returns until the next shift change.
Thanks for any ideas on what to check.

Start with a tune up. It could be that your ignition system is breaking down under load and when you shift, the load changes and it picks up speed again.

It could be the transmission, but it sounds more like an engine issue.
