Question: 99 astro van,drive through a snowstorm and car sputtered then shut off ...had it towed to mechanic l

99 astro van,drive through a snowstorm and car sputtered then shut off ...had it towed to mechanic let the car dry out for 3 hours and they couldn't find anything wrong on the diagnostics or when driving we got back on the road,drive for 2.5 hours and were just driving in a rain storm and we felt it sputter so pulled over but van didn't shut off...scared to et back on the highway,clearly seems something electrical getting wet but have no idea what,HELP!!

You need to start by replacing the distributor car and rotor. Then I would replace the ignition module and coil. That should take care of your issue.
