Question: about engine oil grade. can i use ci4 oil in place or cf4.?

i m gonna change oil for my 1999 toyota hilux surf, (1kzte) 3000cc turbo charged diesel owner manual, they recommend 10w-30/40 CF/CF4. I would like to use ELF polytrafic semi-synthetic 10w-40 CI4 oil. is that ok? My engine is not common rail. And i would like to know which oil is suitable for my engine? thanks :)

Follow the owner's manual recommendations, esp with a diesel/turbo combo. The oil you want to use may work, but it won't be any better than what the factory calls for.
