Question: Acura TL stops moving

I start my car and It moves fine then all of a sudden my car just stops and since my foots on the gas still the engine revs. thegauges still move but the car does not. I dont lose power and the car doesnt shut off. when I turn the the car off and start it again it begins to move again. I think that means a sensor is being tripped but wouldnt that send it into limp mode? The engine check light does come on.
