Question: Attempt 2....

"We pay for ...mechanics so you don't have to...." I was referred to AllData.com. That is not a free service. Does DriverSide have an expert that can answer my question without a marketing gimmick? 1996 Olds 88 3.8L, autoleveling problems. How does it work and where do I locate the components? Thanks.

Expert Mechanic

It's a system with air springs ride height sensors, a compressor and a controller.

The compressor is located on the left side of the engine compartment.

There are air lines to each corner.

The height sensor is near the right rear strut

The controller looks like it's under the drivers seat


These systems are problematic. You would be best off replacing the system with traditional suspension components.
