Question: Bad cold start

My intrepid has a bad cold start. When i start it, and then drive it without letting it run 10 minutes (it runs like an absolute dream after that 10 minute mark), i will have power, and then as my foot is constant on the accelerator, i will loose power and my RPM's drop to under 1k. then it will jerk the whole car and i will have power and my RPMs will shoot up to 5k. I've been to several mechanics and they all tell me they have to have it do it for them. one even had it for a week and couldn't diagnose it. I just changed the engine and put a rebuilt into it. It runs on full synthetic, i've had the oil pump and relay switch changed. i've had the fuel pump checked and they say it's full pressure. could i have missed a ground wire maybe? It's a 2.7.

Have the fuel pressure regulator tested:

If the regulator is OK, have it scanned for codes. If there are none, have the outputs of the ECT, MAF and TPS monitored during a cold start. If it was a ground problem, it would be doing it even when warmed up, but what you've got sounds like unmetered fuel flow that is not being compensated for.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
