Question: bad mileage

What could be the cause of awful mpg on a 2008 dodge avenger rt. Went through a full tank in two days. When I drive I can actually see the gas gauge move. Don't have a lot of money to afford a mechanic where can I start.

Start by checking the actual millage by measuring it for a few tanks to determine how bad it actually is.

The first step in diagnoses would be to check the engine computer for any fault codes. Check long term fuel trims, check O2 sensor operation.

I noticed my PVC intake does have a weak to nothing for suction.
Could that also be a problem. How strong should the suction be.
