Question: Blazer fuel problem?

My 95 chevy blazer at first started with a simple problem it would not hold its prime so we had to spray starting fluid in the throttle body to start it. we replaced the fuel pressure regulator and now it runs horrible it will not stay idling very long and pops and backfires. can anyone give me ideas?

Have you checked to see if the engine and ignition timing are off? It sounds like you have either a timing problem or a lean misfire. If you haven't had a tune-up in the last few years, that would be a good place to start because it would cover the basics. But if you've had one done recently and the timing is where it should be, then start next with replacing the fuel filter and checking the fuel pressure.
