Question: Camshaft position sensor

I have a 02 mustang gt 4.6l dual overhead cams, and I recently figured out why my car was so hard to start. Come to find out it was the cam sensor, so I purchased one at my local auto parts store and replaced it, and its still very hard to start. My step dad thinks its my PCM, but I'm thinking it would be the connector to the sensor it's self because if it were the PCM wouldn't the car not even start? Becides how you replace the connector to the cam sensor?

If you have no codes in the computer it will be ignition or fuel pump. I would make sure the spark plugs are good. If so check your fuel pump pressure. The last thing is the computer.

But the thing is I do have a code and its for the cam sensor, I just replaced the spark plugs and an ignition coil and it still has trouble starting, could it not be in time? Because I replaced the cam sensor too.

When you replaced the cam sensor did you use the tools it calls for. The cam sensor need to be timed right. That takes a special tools. So you mite have to take it to the dealer or a shop that has them. The other thing could be that the trigger piece on the cam gear is broke.
