Question: can an improper engine install create a bouncy ride?

Had a used engine put in 1999 camry after blowing original at 100k miles. Ever since ride has been bouncy at 50 mph+.After replacing some slightly bent rims and balancing the shake in steering wheel is gone, but front end still bounces pretty good at 50mph and up. Could engine install be involved here or just coincidence? This engine is still under warranty until August

Probably not. But many time a lot of suspension parts are removed when an engine is replaced. so you could have the shop recheck their work to be sure.

It sounds more like the shocks or struts are worn and need replacement.
