Question: can new parts put a strain on old parts

1995 GMC Sierra 1500 V8, 115,000 miles, looks like it had alot of work done on the engine. I was told that a concern should be that alot of NEW engine parts can put strain on the old engine parts. That doesn't sound right to me.

Not something you'll hear an experienced technician say.

The sole exception may be if a component was just about to fail, a correctly running engine will make more power.

Anyways, new parts are great, more the better really.
