Question: can the ABS Module go bad and yet, the ABS warning light is not showing on the cluster?

It is possible, but not probable. The ABS light should come on as soon as you turn on the key (all the dash lights come on for a few seconds--standard bub check). Is the bulb good?

If the bulb is good, but it's not setting a code (no ABS light), what makes you think there is a problem? Is there another problem?

I observed a kind of malfunction on the wheels when i am driving my RX300. It usually happens when i want to take off after slowing down. It gives a "grrrr" sound on the wheel especially the back wheels and each time it does that, the VSC light flashes on the cluster. I took it to my mechanic and i was told that it is the ABS pump that malfunctions and that was why i asked the First question. The bulbs on my cluster are working well. Before cranking my car, the ABS light appears and stays for few seconds after starting the car before going out. So the light is working and so, the new question is: if i disconnect the ABS pump, what effect will it have on my vehicle?

If you disconnect the ABS pump, the ABS light will turn on, the ABS system will be disabled, but your regular hydraulic brakes will still function and your vehicle should run and drive normally.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
