Question: can the engine be fixed if the head gasket is blown

I have had a new radiator put in and a new thermostat. I have had another thermostate put in. The car has been driven hot on numerous occassions. Is there a possibility that the engine can be ground down and a new head put on and it will solve my problems with a new head gasket and all the work that goes into getting it put back on. The mechanic said that my antifreeze is going out the tailpipe. It is not leaking under the car our out the engine. I have to replace the water and the antifreeze with every tank of gas or less. It has an aluminum engine. Will they be able to fix it or will the most likely have to replace the motor. What does the cost of a new motor and labor for a subaru forester run?

On repairing the engine. You could have the heads removed and inspect the engine. If the engine has got hot a lot of times it mite not be repairable. There are a few different ways you can go on the replacement of the engine. You can get a used engine, rebuilt engine, or a new one from the dealer. They will cost different. The labor times run from 14-18 hours.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
