Question: can the engine be fixed if the head gasket is blown
I have had a new radiator put in and a new thermostat. I have had another thermostate put in. The car has been driven hot on numerous occassions. Is there a possibility that the engine can be ground down and a new head put on and it will solve my problems with a new head gasket and all the work that goes into getting it put back on. The mechanic said that my antifreeze is going out the tailpipe. It is not leaking under the car our out the engine. I have to replace the water and the antifreeze with every tank of gas or less. It has an aluminum engine. Will they be able to fix it or will the most likely have to replace the motor. What does the cost of a new motor and labor for a subaru forester run?
