Question: Car acts dead on cold start up intermittently

Here's an article on all the things that can cause your engine not to turn over, but with an intermittent problem, it's usually trickier to catch the problem long enough to diagnose it. Next time it comes up, try wiggling the connector to the brake on-off switch (at the brake pedal). If that helps the problem, you've got a bad brake switch or connector.
