Question: CAR: Audi 2001 ST Avant When it gets cold, my driver door

CAR: Audi 2001 ST Avant
When it gets cold, my driver door handle (exterior) does not open the door. It makes a clicking noise and then does not connect to the latching mechanism. When it warms up, it works again. Do I tear the door apart or can it be something easier?

I would first try spraying some lubricant into the latching mechanism.
