Question: Car is hesitating to accelerate

Feels Like>> Vehicle is sluggish when i try to accelerate while driving around 40-60 MPH. It only does this when i try to increase my speed a bit. Transmission shifts perfectly, feels like a misfire but spark plugs were replaced 20K ago. New fuel pump, screen, and filter was placed 6 months ago. They said filter was really dirty then.

Can you help me diagnose this problem?

There are two different engines that could of come in your vehicle. One is the 3.1L V6. They have some common problems for your concern. First is if you changed the plugs and not the wires the wires could be the problem. If you replace the wires one of the coils could be bad, or the module could be the cause. When you have a plug wire go bad it is real easy to have the coil or module go bad. If the vehicle has the 2.4l 4cyl They have a coil tower that goes bad all the time. So I would change the coil tower. If that does not help you please let me know. Also give me the engine size.

Thank you for your reply. It is a 3.1 L
The wires and plugs were changed at the same time. After my post I tried putting in a bottle of fuel cleaner and filled the tank with Shell Premium gas. It seems like it is not having the symptoms as much, but it is still doing what i described, just not as often and not as intense. Ok, i'll try that coil tower replacement as see what happens.

Thank you

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman, DriverSide Contributor For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work.
